I'm currently a PhD student at Imperial College London in maths, specifically algebraic geometry. Before that I completed my Masters and Undergraduate degrees at Cambridge. I have a passion for education and have been teaching in various forms for the past 8 years (see section below)
I am an easy going individual who enjoys talking about maths with anyone! Currently, I enjoy running (especially around the Cambridge countryside) and exploring hidden corners of London.
I am a very down to earth teacher who prefers to listen to the tutees questions and thoughts, and can turn them into a directed discussion on the spot. I feel the trouble with most online tutoring programs is they are too prepared and turn into just another online lecture, which is neither interesting nor beneficial. I prefer to interact with the student, simultaneously answering their questions while asking them questions of my own to keep them engaged. This has worked well so far, with many people I have tutored securing places in their top university choices, and more importantly, have a great understanding of the material as they have actually rediscovered it themselves during our discussions.
