I am a qualified teacher with 10 years experience working in schools and other educational settings. I currently work across a group of primary schools for a Multi-Academy Trust based in Coventry. I have experience of teaching children from the ages of 5 - 16.
I am passionate about education, specifically challenging and nurturing children, regardless of age or ability, to fulfill their academic potential.
In my current role as the Lead for Teaching and Learning across a group of primary schools, I understand what high quality teaching is and how to ensure children make rapid progress. I have access to a range of resources and educational programmes that can be tailored to meet the needs of any child.
Tutoring Experience
Over the course of the last 10 years, I have worked in a variety of roles and contexts within both primary and secondary settings.
At present, I am responsible for leading teaching and learning for a group of primary schools. My specialism is maths. I have a high degree of knowledge around the effective teaching and learning in this particular subject.
I also have extensive experience of teaching reading, writing and grammar to children of a range of abilities.
Having taught in Year 6 for a number of years, I have an in depth knowledge of SATs tests, the demands/expectations of the exams and how best to ensure children excel in these.
In addition, I have tutored children who have decided to take the 11+ entrance exam. These children have gone on to secure places at number of prestigious schools in the Birmingham area.
I have also taught children up to 16 years old with charities such as the British Red Cross, the Eden Project and CHICKS.
Tutoring Approach
My ethos is simple:
Engaging, effective tutoring which is tailored to the individual needs of any child.
As part of the initial meeting, I will look to create a long term plan which suits the individual need of each child. This will be created in consultation with the parents/guardian and child.
