I am an experienced and qualified Biology / Science teacher from Cheshire in the UK. In my 17 years of teaching I have worked in several top-performing state and independent schools in the UK as well as overseas. My students go on to achieve excellent exam results. Achievements of my students include the highest IGCSE Biology result in Malaysia and the highest AS and A Level Biology results in Kenya.

Tutoring Experience

17 years experience teaching Biology / Science, including 5 years as a Head of Department. I have taught in 6 different countries (the UK, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Kenya and Brazil), covering a range of syllabuses (AQA, OCR and CIE as well as the IB Diploma).

Tutoring Approach

I am a passionate Biologist and can enthuse my students with the subject. I am able to break down difficult concepts into manageable chunks, and can relate the subject to help students understand the relevance of their studies to their daily lives. I appreciate that success in Biology involves remembering a lot of information and have tips and tricks to make this easier, and I can adapt my teaching to the differing needs of individual students. My international experience gives me an insight into the challenges faced by those learning Biology / Science for whom English is not their first language.
