Hi, I’m Rose, a recent A-Level student from Bromsgrove School, one of the UK’s leading boarding schools, where I earned an A* grade in English Literature and an A grade in Spanish.

I am proud to have received the Bromsgrove School Wattell English Literature Award in 2025 and the GCSE Spanish Language Award in 2023.

Passionate about teaching English and Spanish, I find immense joy in sharing my love for these subjects with my students. I am also an ABRSM-trained Grade 8 pianist and am currently pursuing a Joint Honours Degree in English Literature and Creative Writing.

I am an avid reader, constantly immersing myself in literature.

Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience tutoring students across various age groups. In Spanish, I have taught students in Years 7 to 11, focussing primarily on mastering vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar to ensure strong GCSE results.

In English Language and Literature, I support students in Years 7 to 11 with specification-focussed learning, reading recommendations, and writing techniques.

Having spent much of my youth with my grandparents in Murcia, Southern Spain, I was immersed in both the Spanish language and culture.

I integrate Spanish traditions and customs into my teaching to foster a deeper, more holistic understanding of the language.

Tutoring Approach

I am a kind, passionate, and approachable educator dedicated to creating a calm and engaging learning environment.

My focus is always on boosting students’ confidence, offering encouragement, addressing areas of weakness, and optimising exam techniques. I provide a wealth of resources, including detailed PowerPoints, worksheets, online activities, and flashcards, and I adapt to each student’s learning style and needs.

In English Literature and Language, I emphasise enhancing reading ability and critical text analysis, covering authorial intent, context, essay planning, and exam strategies.

Students will engage in regular essay planning and practice, followed by review sessions to address weaknesses and refine exam techniques. I also simplify the creative writing process, focussing on planning and structure for both fiction and non-fiction GCSE components.

In Spanish, I combine a patient, friendly, and supportive teaching style with deep engagement in Hispanic culture and history. I find that teaching both the language and its cultural heritage is the most effective approach. I provide comprehensive support in reading, listening, writing, and speaking, ensuring students are well-prepared and confident in all aspects of the language.
