Still early days I booked Ruben for both my boys (yr 12 and yr 9) on the strength of the reviews here. Ruben sent homework before the initial session for both boys at their respective levels to ascertain shortfalls/gaps in knowledge which is what a good teacher does.

I talked to both boys after their sessions and they both said the tuition level is good for them. Both boys are aspiring to have top grades, and I hope so with Ruben's help and targeted interventions.

Ruben was a fantastic tutor !
We started using him when the pandemic began and schools were closed. We were initially concerned about online, however Ruben had a great set up for this.
After using Ruben, my sons confidence grew and his exam results increased and he began to score very highly in his tests and then predicted grade exams.
We highly valued the fact, that Ruben always contacted us if he felt he need to discuss my sons work or progress. He helped put my son at ease when his exam board unexpectedly changed half way through the year, and helped him adapt to the new syllabus and style of questions.
His lessons were invaluable in helping him achieve his A* for his A Level Economics which allowed him to go to his First choice University.

Ruben is a very helpful economics tutor. Although we only had few sessions due to time conflict, they really improve my confidence in economics. The very great things about Ruben are 1 his explanation of the economics theory is very clear, 2 always answer my confusion even outside of the tuition time, which means I do not need to waste my time struggling myself 3 really motivated, making me to revise and practice, which is essential.

Ruben is an incredible economics tutor who helped me get off the ground after months of not studying to achieve an A in just 8 weeks. He was really detailed and committed to helping me with topics I didn't understand. He is also really good at explaining topics, whether they are simple or difficult.

Ruben has been teaching my daughter A level Economics for almost eight weeks now. There has been marked improvement in her essay writing skills. She compared a 25 marker she writes now to to one of her previous 25 marker and thought there was huge improvement! She says Ruben explains topics really well and gives detailed feedback to further improve her answers.

I plan to continue my daughter’s tutoring with Ruben for a couple more months.

A much better economics tutor than my school's one and pretty much any other I've been tutored by. And knows Edexcel marking scheme inside out. I stay focused all lesson because everything he says is important, straight to point. Whenever I ask something he has the clearest explanation for it. Can't recommend highly enough.

In the second year of the Sixth Form (2018 – 2019), to improve my son Andrew in answering the long questions in Economics. We found Ruben in the FirstTutors. He is a dedicated professional Sixth Form teacher with huge experience in teaching A-level Economics. He started to give Andrew 1-hour lesson very Friday evening via Skype. Every week he gave Andrew one or two essays to practice. After 7 months, the hard work has paid off. Andrew achieved A* in Economics, which is above his school prediction.

My son started Maths tutoring with Ruben in September 2018 leaving only 8 months to improve on his predicted grade 3 before he sat his GCSEs. My son has just received his GCSEs results and got a grade 5. He really enjoyed going to Ruben once a week, his confidence grew as his understanding of maths improved. Ruben is a top class tutor, and there is no doubt that the quality of his teachings are excellent, his content knowledge is perfect and his ability to spot out ones weakness in the Economics syllabus is impeccable. I was very fortunate to have found him.
I've given him 4/5 based on the fact that I've only managed to get a few lessons off him. Due to him being a very busy, high in demand tutor, his timings aren't flexible. Perhaps, I am being harsh as he is still the PERFECT tutor, and he is able to fulfill in a constrained time.
