I studied Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Cambridge, taking my degree in 1974. Subsequent to that, worked and qualified as a librarian in Wiltshire. In 1979 I returned to the IT industry. On moving to Carmarthenshire in 1985 I established an independent software (programming) consultancy. My work is currently in use in a number of major UK retailers.
Over the years I have mentored a number of younger programmers. In 2003 I took part in a course run by the Open University 'Preparing to Teach Mathematics'.
Many young people seem to have developed a 'mental block' about Mathematics. I hope to help them get past this and find confidence in whatever their mathematical needs.
