I graduated from Trinity Music College, London in 2008 with a degree in Bmus Composition and Voice. I am a friendly and enthusiastic musician with experience of teaching Singing, Pianoforte, Music theory, GCSE & AS/A Level (AQA & Edexcel), ABRSM exam preparation and Music degree units such as Score analysis, Composition, Orchestral arranging and Ensemble.

I have an equal passion for contemporary music as well as the more traditional forms of classical music. I am able to arrange and teach music for individuals, ensembles and choirs and believe that music is an excellent way for pupils to express themselves and enjoy whilst learning the values of teamwork.

I studied Composition at Trinity College of Music under Stephen Montague, Edwin Roxburgh & Dr Paul Newland. I also had the opportunity to work with actors, musicians and composers such as: Prunella Scales, Timothy West, Terence Allbright, Stephen Roberts, Ann Murray, Errollyn Wallen, Soumik Datta and Terry Edwards.

• I have taught the AS/A-level Music Composition Unit and BTEC National Music & Performing Arts Units in Performance, Vocal Technique & Nutrition. (Taught Music A2-Level in its entirety in 2009-10)
• Organised concerts throughout the year with special guests from London. (This included the all the Marketing and Sound & Light engineering per concert)
• Attended Keynote Post 16 music: Teaching Composition: practical techniques to develop composing skills' in 2012.

Tutoring Approach

My approach varies from subject to instrument.

Compositionally, I believe in supporting the student's creativity and developing what interests them, which can be through score analysis, listening, composition technique and arranging. I can teach Chorales/Counterpoint and basic chord progressions if the student is new to composition. I can teach GCSE, A-LEVEL and Degree/Undergraduate level.

Vocally, I concentrate on vocal technique, breathing, projection, clarity of vowels/cons and musicianship. It's important for the voice to be looked after at an early age so it can develop without injuries/bad technique. All songs will be chosen by the students ability/range. I can teach ABRSM/Trinity Guildhall exams (up to Grade 8) as well as Rock schools and ICMA.

Piano, I can teach upto ABRSM/Trinity Grade 8 including a vast knowledge of piano repertiore.

Music Theory - I can teach upto grade 8 if required. I use colour pencils.
