I am a professional and experienced tutor that specialises in English Language, English Literature and Creative Writing. I tutor students from all over the world who are primary school age through to postgraduate level. I also work with home-schoolers, adult learners who require academic support, and business professionals who need guidance with their written communication using applications such as Skype, email and Google Docs.
My excellent English literature and language skills alongside my academic and journalistic experience in a creative field, has allowed me to forge a strong creative, critical and analytical ability. As well as academic support, I offer superb mentoring skills, encouragement, reassurance, confidence-building and support, throughout all levels of the learning process.
I have been tutoring professionally since 2009 and I have an outstanding track record of improving exam and level results both online and face-to-face. This includes; grammar, structure, planning, comprehension and general organisation.
I individually tailor each programme of study after a full consultation with both students and parent/s of younger students. I work at an appropriate pace and encourage a high level of interactivity and discussion. I have taught students with dyslexia, dyspraxia and autism, and who speak English as a second language.
I offer a committed, professional and flexible service. I can provide a range of testimonials from students and parents, as well as references upon request.
Students achieve their academic, professional and personal goals with my support as I have a clear, encouraging and positive approach. My varied academic experience together with the skills I obtained as a journalist and editor, enables me to help my students focus on their weaker areas extremely quickly, instigating structured and achievable plans for progress from lesson 1.
By setting challenging yet attainable goals with both young people and adults alike, I invariably see my students achieve far more than their expectations and surprise themselves with the ease by which they do so. With their own impetus and effort, students often go up levels in a matter of weeks and pass exams with far higher grades than predicted.
