I am currently a university student at King's College London that completely the 2024 IB programme at the American International School of Budapest. I have upheld a passion for teaching and mentoring others, with particular speciality in social science subjects. Having studied in international environments, I bring cultural sensitivity, patience, and clear communication to all my sessions. My goal is not only to help students achieve academic success but to develop critical thinking and independent learning strategies they can carry forward.
During my second year of IB, I began privately tutoring first year IB students in various subjects a few times a week. This consisted of 1 to 1.5 hour lessons which involved reviewing coursework material and personal resources with my mentees and crafting study method techniques that worked on an individual level. This improved lower scores, i.e. 3, to consistent 5, 6, and 7's.
My approach to teaching is to guide students with the intention of not solely focusing on the final scores, but building upon techniques and skills to set them up for long-term success. The IB programme is designed to encourage inquiry, reflection, and independent thought, not solely memorisation. That’s why my tutoring sessions focus on fostering consistency, curiosity, and depth of understanding. I help students develop effective study habits, essay structuring techniques, and time management strategies. I aim to build both confidence and resilience that serve them well not just within the IB framework, but in university and beyond. Ultimately, my goal is to make complex ideas accessible.
