Sacha

My name is Sacha (they/them) and I'm a recent First Class Hons graduate in BA Politics, Philosophy and History at Birkbeck. I'm currently applying for postgraduate research in Politics and the Arts.
I can primarily tutor in Politics and History, and am particularly knowledgeable on ideologies and political philosophy, UK parliamentary studies, British constitutional and social history (1700s-present), the British Empire, European history (1600s-1900s, with an emphasis on the Napoleonic period and witchcraft). I also can help with Philosophy, Media/Film Studies, and English, but this is discretionary as my experience with those is less broad.

Tutoring Experience

I have helped fellow students throughout my studies, which many have found helpful (on a few occasions, I've been told I was more helpful than the class tutor!)
I also self-taught for my GCSEs and a portion of A-Levels, and much of my university course was self-directed, which has meant I have often had to set my own structures and goals for my studies.

Tutoring Approach

I aim to be adaptable and flexible to the student's needs, figuring out what they will need to know for their given syllabus, and where their interests are.
Many people find, for various reasons, that they struggle to engage with a given topic, but may excel in others. I would aim to nurture that excellence, whilst providing focus on the areas of difficulty in a non-stigmatising way.
