An experienced chemistry tutor
I am available to teach in person and online for GCSE chemistry, A level chemistry, and foundation course of chemistry for overseas students. My first language is Arabic, and I speak English language very fluently. I have an up to date enhanced DBS check.
Having achieved my PhD degree, I have decided to start doing private tutoring for chemistry in the UK as I find my passion more in this sector much more than in other jobs of chemistry. And when I have checked it, I found the A level chemistry subjects were written and published in an excellent way that made me very passionate to teach it.
I hold a BSc degree in chemistry, MSc in analytical chemistry, and most recently a PhD degree in chemistry from the University of Nottingham. Teaching chemistry is the best thing I have decided for my career, and I have a long teaching experience of about 20 years which can be listed as follows:
1- A lecturer of analytical chemistry (Theoretical & Practical, to teach the volumetric and gravimetric analysis) for 1st and 2nd Stages at departments of chemistry, biology, geology at the College of Science – University of Anbar. September 2007 to January 2013. In addition to teach the same topics at the School of Pharmacy – University of Anbar, as well.
2- Teaching the chemistry as a volunteer for the different secondary classes in Ramadi city. October 1996 to July 1999. And now I am a volunteer chemistry teacher at the Arabic school in Nottingham.
3- I have been working University of Nottingham for three academic terms (the years of 2014, 2015, and 2017) as a demonstrator for first years (in both physical and organic divisions at the school of chemistry).
As an experienced lecturer / teacher, I believe that one has to establish his own effective approach to deliver the materials to the audience in very simplified way. So, my approach to teaching is to ensure understanding by deploying a variety of methodologies to improve learning. Furthermore, this approach remains flexible as we progress to help students achieve their best. I will work together alongside my students, building from the syllabus to identify and tackle weaker areas first and then upgrading the student to the level that enables them to handle their exams in a better way.
I am really looking forward to pass my knowledge to my students in the best manner that I can.
All the best to all students who are working very hard to achieve their goals.
