I am an academic lecturer, educated to doctorate level, with over 10 years experience teaching university students in the disciplines of Sociology, Politics, and International Politics
My experiences include active involvement in tutoring and lecturing students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, as well as having considerable experience teaching students of colour, as well as those from a working class background, and students with learning difficulties

My teaching tends to draw on the works of critical pedagogy - especially bell hooks and Paulo Freire - to provide praxis learning, where the student and lecturer engage on a level, drawing on practical experience and examples, in relation to and in response to academic research and theoretical insights from the disciplines being studied.
I believe in creating a supportive, nurturing, intellectually stimulating and academically focused environment, tailored to the needs of and level of knowledge of, my students.
