I am a passionate and dedicated science educator with a strong academic background in Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Science. Having grown up in Leeds and now living in Bradford, I understand the local educational landscape and the needs of students in West Yorkshire. Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience teaching chemistry and related sciences across multiple qualification levels. Currently teaching at Leeds City College, I deliver BTEC Applied Science, focusing on analytical techniques, organic chemistry, and laboratory skills. My experience spans both Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, giving me versatility in adapting content to different age groups and ability levels. I particularly excel at helping students bridge the gap between GCSE and A-level chemistry, focusing on building strong foundations whilst challenging high-achieving students.

My teaching style focuses on building understanding through active learning rather than memorisation. I begin by assessing a student's current knowledge and learning style, then develop personalised strategies to address their specific needs. For chemistry students, I emphasise the connections between theoretical concepts and practical applications, using real-world examples from pharmaceutical development and analytical chemistry. I incorporate regular formative assessment to track progress and adapt my approach accordingly.
