Hello there! I graduated recently with a law degree from the University of Cambridge in June 2023. After this, I spent a year working as a Residential Tutor at Whanganui Collegiate School in New Zealand, providing assistance in the classroom and as a cricket and rugby coach. I will be starting law school in March 2024 at BPP Law School in London, before going on to my training contract at Slaughter and May.
During my year in New Zealand, the thing I most enjoyed was working with the kids, whether it be on the sports field, in the boarding house and in the classroom. I loved their enthusiasm and energy and the feeling of helping to guide them through the challenges they faced. I want to take what I've learned from this year and from my experience applying to university and law firms to provide students with the help they need, in whatever capacity that may be.
I worked in a school in New Zealand for 12 months, where I spent 15 hours a week in the classroom with 14-18 year olds. This was both as a teaching assistant helping the main teacher and taking small groups or individual students for the hour. Additionally, I would spend evenings in the boarding house supervising prep (homework) and assisting struggling students.
I have experience conducting mock Oxbridge law interviews at my previous school to help aspiring candidates. Having recently been through the interview process for a training contract, I am well-equipped to help prepare those applying for vac schemes/training contracts.
I offer a friendly approach, where I hope to make a student feel at ease and allowing them to put their best foot forward. I like to guide a student gradually through a subject, providing cues when necessary but enabling them to come up with the solutions themselves.
