I am a lecturer in Education, with enhanced skills in application of progressive educational theoretical approaches. I primarily assist in helping adult or older learners although I have also been involved in primary and secondary education as a teaching assistant and in specialist support roles. I have direct teaching experience in lecturing in the FE sector in ICT, Literacy, Archaeology, History, Employability, Research, Digital Literacy, Education and Functional skills.
Currently I am working as an educational consultant and lecturer teaching in Education. I am highly skilled in educational theory and delivery and I specialize in innovative and non traditional approaches which are designed to succeed when other approaches have not been able to deliver desired or anticipated results. I am able to provide programmes which support a wide range of learner differences, especially dyslexia.
I am a fully qualified teacher in the FE (post 16 sector) teaching on access to higher education courses in citizenship, as well as lecturing in essential skills, employability and ICT to adults of all ages.
In addition I also teach Archaeology on outreach programmes to students and to community volunteers.
I am also a qualified teaching assistant and have three years experience working in primary education with groups as well in one to one situations.
I employ highly individualized learning which focuses on creative approaches to devlop cognitive recall and development which enable and foster learning in all age ranges. I create resources which encourage and engage learners, which also build into portfolios to chart personal progress. With my background and experience I can and support people with a wide range of learning differences (such dyslexia, dyscalcuia, dyspraxia, autism, aspergers syndrome, irlens syndrome and anxiety).
When possible I like to utilize the 'outdoor classroom' to situate learning which also allows a multi disciplinary approach which embeds a variety of subjects into one activity.
