After studying music all through school, and performing in choirs and shows as much as possible, I continued with my passion for the arts at uni. I developed tons of skills including arranging, transcription and songwriting, and I also performed and improvised in genres all across pop music. For my dissertation, I arranged covers of popular songs of various genres for a seven-piece jazz band and performed them myself. And I've been teaching ever since! I have gained enough experience and knowledge over the years to teach people of all ages confidently using techniques that are easy to understand.
I'm currently a peripatetic music teacher based in the West Midlands (specifically the Black Country) vocal and electronic keyboard tuition in several primary- and secondary-age schools, both mainstream and SEN settings. I also act as music director for a choir in one of these schools.
Throughout my teaching years, I've seen hundreds of pupils develop their confidence in not just their music skills, but in themselves in general. Music is an incredible way to challenge yourself, and it really does pay off! Some of my students have performed in their first concerts and musicals, and pass with flying colours in LCM/ABRSM exams.
My first session with you will involve taking a baseline assessment in order for me to understand your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the subject. I'll also take the opportunity to get to know you and your learning style.
Payments will be taken via online banking or Paypal.
