Hello students and parents, my name is sana and I’m a pharmacy student passionate about teaching a wide range of science subjects to all student with different backgrounds and skills . I’m currently completing my degree with the aim to become a part time lecture and a hospital pharmacist.
I have previously worked as a tutor to family members and a teacher assistant for primary school students as well as a GCSE science tutor for the past year on an online platform. Currently I take a part of a PAL program assigned by my university to teach and assist other pharmacy students with their studies, which means that I have not only got the sufficient experiences in teaching but also the skills of creating PowerPoints, questionnaires, and a different teaching style for different age groups of students.
My main focus is to elevate student throughout their difficult and easy time in academia by giving them the right support and the sufficient knowledge.
My approach always varies on the level of competence of the student, but generally speaking I focus on the areas of struggles, simplifying complex concepts to make it easier for student to memorise and conceptualise the concept, and giving a real life examples to get the student to better understand the subject and drawing diagrams and methods. Lastly, I always ask questions throughout the session and carry out a re-cap method with the student where she/he will explain/teach it back to me so we can identify areas of improvement. In cases, where exams are approaching soon I create a study map to follow up with students throughout before attending on the exam paper.
