Dr Sandip

I hold PhD in Chemistry, examiner at OCR and Edexcel exam boards. I have been tutoring GCSE and A level Chemistry for more than 15 years. My teaching focuses on developing a in-depth understanding of the subject and an exam-oriented approach, which leads to better grades with all my tutees.

Tutoring Experience

I have an excellent track record of success at A level and GCSE through disciplined teamwork (references from past students available on request) . This includes rigorous teaching and practice over each topic. Over the years I have prepared plenty of resources for practice and revision and continuously improving them to align with advanced level questions (see some samples resource on the profile). Each year I come across students with D/E grade at the end of the A level first year, scores to A in their final exam with my tutoring in the second year. Being an examiner for UK exam boards, I know marking process and examination question style very well and prepare the student to hit those "key marking points".
I teach chemistry at one of the leading University in South East. The in-depth knowledge of chemistry, years of teaching experience and passion for chemistry enable me to explain complex concepts in a more understandable and manageable way.

Tutoring Approach

Lesson highlight :
-Cover the specification in great detail, from fundamentals to the highest possible level required for A Level (Many students had bad experience from their past tutor who would do past papers only- That's not the best way you learn content at A level).
-Go through past paper questions to apply the acquired knowledge during the lesson ( I have prepared resources covering questions for each topic from 2010- current year, and will be adding on)
-Set homework for each week and assess.
-Answer any queries that arise between the session over the email, whatsapp.
- Develop self belief through motivation and encouragement.

The comprehensive knowledge of chemistry is crucial at A-level, as most of the exam questions require an application of the knowledge rather than just recalling facts. My teaching develops a better understanding of the topics which helps students to answer questions with confidence.

I use molecular models for relevant topics (shapes of molecules, Transition metals, Polymer, structure and bonding etc). I provide well-prepared colorful mind maps and charts to help students remember the content for longer. There will be plenty of topic-based self-prepared resources ( around 2300 pages ) to build knowledge from basic to advanced levels.

The fees listed on profile is while teaching in the group of two students with same specification. Please inquire for one to one lesson or group lesson if you wish.
I have an enhanced DBS certificate.
