Hello, my name is Sanela and I teach A level Psychology at a 6th Form in a Secondary school in London. Human mind and behaviour are my areas of both professional and private interests, and I regularly research and update my knowledge through on line seminars, lectures and courses.
I have taught A level psychology in schools and colleges for over 15 years. I have a very broad experience of teaching both old and new AQA Psychology syllabus. I have also taught IB Psychology courses which were very successful. For this, I attended specific IB training in Athens, Greece, prior to delivering IB psychology courses to students.
Currently, I work in a school with a mixed range of academic abilities, so my overall experience is of teaching highly able and motivated students (e.g. IB students) to those who need extra help with understanding more difficult topics or those who might need extra help with structuring essays and /or approaching various types of exam questions.
Students start with flipped learning (reading/researching the topic they need help with, prior to tutoring session). Understanding is assessed with questions and answers. This enables me to identify any challanges the student might have. I then focus on explaining and demonstrating with examples how to overcome these challenges. Students are then encouraged to practice exam style questions, which are checked and discussed.
