I am a qualified engineer and teacher at Petroc College, Barnstaple. I have worked as a research fellow on several interdisciplinary projects, including the European Union Water Framework Directive, the Bathing Water Framework Directive and the UK EPSRC projects at the University College Dublin, Ireland, the University of Leeds, and the University of Exeter. My primary role in these projects involves statistical and process-based mathematical modelling of environmental processes.
I teach various subjects: GCSE Math, T-Level Maths, Science, Quantity Surveying and Higher Education: Civil Engineering, Computer Programming and Material Science. I am available to support students with maths, science, physics, and civil engineering subjects.
I have over 15 years of combined teaching experience in FE colleges and universities in Ireland and the UK. I taught a range of subjects: mathematics, business statistics, and civil engineering at various universities: National University of Ireland, Galway; University College Dublin, Ireland; University of Leeds; University of Coventry; and University of Exeter. I also taught Exeter College mathematics, science and civil engineering modules for T-Level students. I teach various subjects at Petroc College, including GCSE maths, T-Level mathematics, science, quantity surveying, computing, and engineering modules.
Student-centred teaching: students learn more by actively doing than passively listening to the teacher. I strive to recognise students' knowledge gaps through formative assessments and tailor my teaching strategies to reach their full potential. I also have experience working with Special Education Needs children with a range of additional needs: Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD, etc. My calm, clear and confident manner helps me deliver effective teaching and supervision.
