Hi! I am Sarah, an undergraduate biochemistry student with a love for teaching and helping others! I am kind and approachable and have great knowledge of a range of subjects and exam boards - however, my specialty is science and maths :)

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching through the schools platform of MyTutor and have had great success, with many students and parents giving positive feedback and even requesting me permanently for their slots after cover sessions! I then moved onto GoStudent and other private platforms. I now have an exceptional reputation, specifically with SEND students. My students consistently get to and above their initial goals in a friendly and supportive environment. An example is a student who went from a grade 3 to a grade 7 in triple science within 8 months of tuition with me at one session a week. They are now going on to stay with me at A-Level for chemistry.

Tutoring Approach

I am very open-minded with my teaching style and adapt to the needs of my students. I use real-life examples - video games are a great one for maths!- to try and make the material make the most sense. I provide tips and tricks that may not be taught in the classroom that I learned on my own GCSE and A-Level journey and that I still use now in my degree and have had a great response from current students with them! If an approach isn't working, I will find one that will!
