My name is Sarah and I am a second-year medical student. I love learning new things, but this wasn’t always the case. My teachers were incredibly important in helping me to find out what I was truly passionate about, and their teaching approaches helped to accelerate my grades. As a recent secondary school student, I am aware of the various teaching methods that enabled me to consistently achieve A and A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and English Language. If you’re struggling to get the grades you deserve, I can help you. I am very familiar with the specifications and past papers for the exam boards I tutor, and I have additional question banks to tackle difficulties within a topic.

I think it is vital to get to know my students first, including their strengths and weaknesses, revision strategies, personal academic goals and wider aspirations. This will then enable me to deliver sessions tailored to their needs, offering them a precise approach to any problems encountered during school or private study. If you are struggling with grasping concepts and theories, I offer revision PowerPoints but as I have found, an explanation using drawings, notes and example questions is the most efficient and enjoyable way of active learning. If your subject knowledge is sound, I can go through past paper questions with you, helping you to identify patterns, and implicit references to what the exam boards are looking for in your answers. Essays can also seem daunting to students, but with my top-mark essays and plans, I can guide you by workshopping an answer and marking in your session.
NB: I took my Astronomy GCSE in 2018, not 2016 which is what is written in the qualification section, sorry for the confusion!
