I have no hesitation recommending Sarah as a French teacher. She is passionate and incredibly patient. I was looking for conversational French, which she has helped me with but she also hasn’t neglected the need to understand grammatical French and the importance of building up vocabulary. The best thing about Sarah is her sense of humour, she often has me in hysterics with her views on things. Lessons with her are always enjoyable therefore.

Sarah has a lovely natural way of making learning French for my 11 year old son a lot of fun. She is an excellent tutor and we are very lucky that we have found her.

Sarah is warm and friendly, professional and patient. She is extremely flexible and very happy to arrange lessons around my schedule, either weekly or fortnightly. After four lessons my confidence is growing and I feel more able to converse.

Sarah has been very accommodating in her approach to teaching, we have not been seeing Sarah for long but in the time that we have, from what I can tell Amber is learning things she did not understand before and thanks to Sarah's teaching style this is helping Amber tremendously, I can already see how confident she is becoming toward the subject

My wife and I are beginners and attend lessons with Sarah once a week.

The lessons take place in Sarah's house in Welwyn - the house is comfortable and welcoming. Sarah is also very welcoming and has a lot of patience! Being a french native, Sarah is able to give a lot of help with pronunciation.

The lessons are structured and Sarah always offers lots of additional information and advice on every topic. The lessons often involve a lot of discussion as well as reading and listening to examples.

Sarah is helping my daughter with her A level French hopefully in preparation for studying modern languages at university . Sarah previously helped me with learning French for business . In both situations Sarah is an excellent teacher - challenging but supportive and keen to tailor the lessons to suit the pupil .

Sarah helped me prepare for a forthcoming interview and was a fantastic teacher. Really put me at ease and let me lead the session. Also very flexible with dates and times. After just a few sessions with Sarah I felt a lot more confident on several aspects of my french knowledge. Sarah and her whole family are very welcoming and friendly.

Sarah has helped our son with his IB French standard level. At short notice, she stepped in to greatly assist him with preparation for an oral exam.

I have been seeing Sarah for French lessons for a couple of years now. I love her lessons and my French has improved markedly. I learn it for fun and the lessons are fun. I would recommend her unreservedly.

Sarah gave me individual French lessons for approximately two years.
Having had no French tuition at school, but many years of travel in France I already had basic holiday French but no grammatical or written knowledge. I found her structured but flexible approach ideal for my needs.

Having had to find an alternative French tutor to my previously very good tutor I feel very fortunate indeed to have found Sarah.
I feel she provides what the student wants and does it in a way that involves one in the language. I always come away feeling that I have learned something new, and I have!
Sarah's technique does not put any pressure on one, like so many entirely book based only courses do.
She is a very pleasant and engaging person and I would recommend her most highly.

Sarah helped my son with his French literature exam. He enjoyed the lesson and it was a pleasure meeting Sarah. She was enthusiastic, encouraging and had some great reference tools. She couldn't have been more helpful and I only wish we had met her sooner. We will definitely ask Sarah for more lessons in the future.

I've enjoyed 7 lessons with Sarah and found her to be an extremely professional, personable and motivational tutor. The lessons were very flexible and Sarah encouraged me to extend my listening and reading of French outside the lessons too, to get the most from the sessions. I've found my vocabulary and confidence in speaking has really improved. I was fortunate to visit relations in France over Christmas and they commented on how well I was speaking and that they really noticed a difference in the ease of maintaining a conversation. I would highly recommend Sarah as a tutor.
