I work part-time as a tutor of French and German, covering all levels and interests from GCSE, through to A-level and adult learning. I'm extremely passionate about language learning, having studied and worked in both France and Germany and pursued courses in Spanish, Latin and Hindi too.

Tutoring Experience

I'm degree qualified in French, German and Linguistics (University of York, 2001), which included one semester studying in Lille, France and another in Erfurt, Germany.
I've tutored in French and German for twenty five years with a few small gaps around having children. I've kept my languages alive, most recently with a five-week stay in Aveyron, France over the summer of 2024 and with very regular trips to the Sauerland, Germany.
Also, after graduation until my mid 20s, I worked as a recruitment consultant in Paris, interviewing candidates and placing them in top law firms and banks. I'd also held internship positions for IT recruitment agencies in Frankfurt and Stuttgart before that.
I've tutored at all levels, from primary school age, through to GCSE and A-level, as well as adult learners.

Tutoring Approach

I'm extremely friendly and approachable. I'm told by parents that their child felt quickly at ease. Often, if tuition is required by a student, it's due to a lack of enjoyment, lack of confidence or struggling with a particular aspect of the learning. It's part of my job to solve these things too.
