I am an engineer working for an engineering consultancy firm in London. I have been told that my approach to teaching makes it enjoyable for my students as I am considered patient and very approachable.
I have over 7 years of experience tutoring maths and physics. My first tutoring engagement started in year 13, where I tutored GCSE physics to year 10s. Once I started university back in 2017, I joined a charity organisation "Action Tutoring", where I tutored GCSE maths to year 10s as a volunteer. Both of which have polished my skills as a tutor. I have an excellent record of recurring clients. Right now, I have been teaching a secondary school level student for 3 years and counting.
I teach students based on guiding them to find out the answers to problems on their own. It is said that often solving a difficult maths problem can bring one an immense sense of achievement and joy. Therefore, I teach my students the steps needed to solve problems on their own. I use a series of analogies and examples to help with their understanding and encourage my students to link a particular problem to something they are familiar with. In this way, their learnings can be reinforced by associating positive memory with the methods for problem-solving.
