I am a qualified high performance sport nutritionist (SENr registered), and have worked for premiership rugby and football clubs, as well as a private consultant.
I am a qualified secondary teacher specialising in Physical Education and Biology and teach up to Key Stage 5. I have worked in a range of large co education secondary school and been a head of department.
I was a professional athlete having been part of the Great Britain Athletics team in heptathlon, and a member of the Great Britain Bobsleigh team.
I studied German, Human Biology and Physical Education to A-level and continued to further education in the area of Sport and Exercise Science.
I am very patient, hard-working, dedicated, outgoing, bright and always aim to bring enjoyment to learning.
I have over 12 years of experience working in both state and independent school systems in the UK. Additionally I have worked in a British International school abroad.
I am currently available to tutor students in Sport/PE up to KS5, Biology up to KS4 and University level for Sport Science and like courses.
I have also worked for the Youth Sport Trust delivering projects to motivate, inspire and encourage children to make the most of their lives and use my abundance of experience to help improve students grades and school experiences.
I am very aware that each child has different learning styles, so will use the appropriate tools needed to ensure quality learning is achieved. I use a logistical and practical approach to setting tutoring tasks, and link teaching to scenarios/questions/practical examples that are associated with the topic and the students’ interests to help create strong memory bonds. I have found this to be very successful for exam preparation.
Additionally I always make sure I give my students comprehensive proof reading and checking time for essays or exam preparation.
