Hi, my name is Shafiq and I am currently studying Natural Sciences at King's College London. I am a passionate tutor with experience in working one to one and within groups in a tuition centre working with kids from a range of different backgrounds and abilities. With a strong foundation in Mathematics and a passion for problem solving, I am dedicated to helping students build confidence and go above and beyond their academic goals.

Tutoring Experience

I provided tailored GCSE Maths lessons one to one and to a group of 4 students helping them increase their grade by being proactive in their learning and identifying gaps in their knowledge. Having the ability to work on the go and improvise due to teaching kids of different abilities, I am able to teach many different aspects of education such as how to approach different exam questions as well as how to revise effectively. Through this experience, I developed strong communication skills and the ability to adapt my teaching methods to best support each student. Having been a tutee myself whilst I was undertaking my GCSEs, I know first hand exactly what is needed from a tutor to make sure you get the right help needed in order for you to excel in your studies.

My teaching approach is student focused and adaptable and designed to make GCSE maths more accessible and enjoyable. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit individual needs, ensuring a supportive and engaging learning environment. My lessons emphasise problem-solving techniques, exam strategies, and building a strong foundation in key topics to boost confidence and performance. I also encourage an interactive learning style, where students are actively involved in solving problems, asking questions, and developing their critical thinking skills. Whether a student needs help with specific topics, exam preparation, or general confidence-building in maths, I provide structured guidance and continuous support to help them achieve their goals.
