I am a GP working within the NHS who has always had a strong passion for learning. I feel it is a privilege to teach my students the knowledge that I have gained so that they can then excel and achieve their ambitions

Tutoring Experience

I have over 13 years experience of tutoring :
KS3 Biology,Chemistry,Physics and Maths
GCSE Biology,Chemistry,Physics and Maths
A level Biology and Chemistry
Preparing students for the medical personal statements and interviews .
Preparing junior doctors for the MSRA preparation
In addition to this I have tutored Medicine students for the last 7 years

I have had students from various different backgrounds which from my experience in the medical field has allowed me to interact with them on a personal level, allowing me to build a rapport and relationship that allows me to bring the best out of my students. My student's ages have varied between the ages of 4-37! I feel my versatility and ability to communicate at the same level as my students has definitely proven to be vital.

Tutoring Approach

The best aspect about being a student of knowledge is that you know what a student would like ; hence being able to adapt to your student on both a personal and academic level. I feel this allows me to convey both information and concepts for my student's to grasp with ease.
In addition to this, being a medical student and having to learn copious amounts and in-depth information regarding both the physiology and anatomy of the body provides me a degree of knowledge that would allow me to teach the concepts taught at both KS3,GCSE and A levels proficiently with both ease and clarity.

My approach to tutoring varies depending on who my student is and what type of service they require. My ultimate goal is to not only improve them academically to receive the best possible grade, but to develop them as a student who is intuitive and dynamic in their approach to learning.

In terms of teaching style's/packages that I offer:

The students who prefer to have a tutor to guide them through a complete course, I endeavour to provide systematic learning to cover all areas and aspects of the course. Just to give you a insight into my teaching methods. I will use the textbooks that are specific to my student's curriculum. I reinforce what I teach with the aid of a whiteboard and the relevant diagrams and pictures. At some point in the theory stage I will begin to introduce small snippets of exam questions to build up the familiarity of answering questions, and removing that daunting feeling of having exams.
The final stage is answering complete question papers, finding areas of weakness. Solidifying the areas of weakness and attempting some more papers. With this cycle I will ensure that my students remains or become the academically strongest.

The students who require hardcore preparation for the exams, the main focus after establishing strong knowledge of the subject is to improve the exam technique. This means the main focus of our sessions will be solely based on past exam papers. I will pin-point the areas of weakness that my students have so that we can develop the knowledge together, but to also improve their ability of answering the exam questions.
