A BSc (HONS) Computer Science Graduate with a 1st Class Degree. I studied both A-Level ICT and A-Level Computing and am more than capable of teaching A-Level based academic studies; I have a deep understanding of both aspects (IT and Computing) A-Level standard and above. I am also a qualified Computer Science teacher, having just completed PGCE in secondary Computer Science (partially inclusive of primary school).
I have run several University level sessions during my studies and have acted as a mentor for other graduates. I also govern a number of graduates; helping them with professional development, guidance and preparation to get into the IT industry. I hold awards, commendations, Final Computing Students of the Year (top 10-15) in University.
I hold several experiences in a number of IT Related roles. I currently work as a Software Architect and Manager for a leading corporate healthcare IT company in central London.
Primary school: have taught only year 5's and 6's (Computer Science).
Secondary school: both classroom experience and After school 1-1 sessions, having also put students on development pathways with track record of achievement/progression - leading to myself achieving a 1st as a teacher.
Experience also teaching University level students as well as A-Level Computing.
Adapting to the understanding and thought process of the student in order to use their own method of understanding to grasp concepts. A problem we have with existing academic educators, is that they are only "by the book" - my approach is more flexible and extensive.
I also have my own methods to understanding Computing concepts which majority like. Being (somewhat) young, my students feel more able to relate and engaged in studies; it is crucial for students to feel comfortable during academic studies, the freedom to ask a question in any format whereby the teacher understands the struggle.
What makes me different: I am not only a IT professional by profession, but also have experience as a qualified teacher in both phases of education. This means I am also aware of the academic struggles in the classroom, the Curriculum, marking criteria and access to past papers. I have also useful material covering each topic via. effective rules and methods according to marking schemes.
