I am a jazz pianist and violinist with extensive experience in music education. I did my undergraduate studies at the Welsh College of Music and Drama and continued my training at Trinity College of Music. I graduated from there with a postgraduate diploma in jazz performance. Since that time I have worked with many musicians as a violinist and pianist and played at venues across London, Britain and abroad. I have directed my own groups including Latin group Removed playing my own groove based music. I currently play violin in gypsy swing group theRemoved in a jazz duo. I also perform as a solo pianist and piano vocalist.
I have taught piano and violin for several years to ages ranging from young children to adults. I have mainly taught privately one-to-one, teaching both classical and jazz. I have also led workshops and large classes in primary and comprehensive schools. As well as instrumental teaching I have taught composition and music theory from beginners up to diploma level.
My lessons are fun, stimulating and thoroughly enjoyable. As students are all unique and have different motivations, goals and needs, I tailor lessons to suit each individual. This enables me to nurture their musicianship, in turn allowing their creativity and musicality to blossom.
