Hi,
I am 52, hold a BA Hons in English and History and teach English at a very successful school in King's Lynn.
I have a son who completed his education at the school that I teach at.
I started my teaching career later in life due to redundancy, however, I feel that my previous career(s) and life experience has helped me bring a lot to teaching.
When I started my degree and my GCSE's, to train as a teacher, it really did ignite my passion for learning. This is something that I enjoy transferring to my pupils' whilst teaching.
My first lesson is free of charge as I feel that this time is best spent getting to know students, their capabilities and where they need to be.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions that have not been answered here.
I look forward to speaking to you.
I started my teacher training at an 'Outstanding' school in Bury St Edmunds where I had year 9 and 10 classes.
On completion of my training I was awarded an overall mark of outstanding.
Following my training I secured a position at a local school where I teach year 7.8.9.10 and 11. During last term I ran a catch up club for year 7 students.
I am familiar with Edxcel Language, AQA Language papers and AQA Literature papers.
A couple of years ago, I started tutoring a lady who decided to take the GCSE Language papers who didn't have a GCSE; she sat her exam and was awarded a 9.
Everyone has a right to learn and to do well in whatever they do.
I set my expectations high.
