ONLINE TUITION (via Zoom)
I am a qualified and experienced Chemistry, Science teacher and Examiner with Edexcel.
My Academic portfolio:
• First Class Honours BSc Chemistry (Kings’ College London)
• MSc Information Technology (University College London - UCL)
• PGCE Secondary Science (Kings’ College London)
Previous to teaching I was an accomplished professional manager and leader with transferrable skills from over 12 years cross-industry experience in one of the most prestigious Management Consultancies in the UK. Having forged and established a very successful career in the city, I made a conscious decision to give back to the future of the youth of this country. Coming from an experienced background has allowed me to develop a sound skill-set enabling me to demonstrate how to help drive, lead and motivate students.
As an experienced and qualified Chemistry teacher and Examiner, I endeavour to provide a unique tuition experience, tailored to your child’s needs.
I am an extremely dedicated and enthusiastic individual with over 5 years teaching experience across KS3, KS4 and KS5 and now also working as an examiner with Edexcel.
I have a proven track record of raising standards of student achievements and I believe hard work, dedication, passion and the development of the right skill set can allow any pupil to change mind-sets to help realise and achieve if not exceed his/her potential.
When submitting a tutoring request, it would be very helpful if you could include:
• the examination board that sets your exam
• the number of hours per week that you require tuition
• a preferred day and time
• a preferred start date
This will enable me to respond fully on first contact.
I adopt different teaching strategies and styles dependent on the ability of my pupils; stretching the more abled and using scaffolding techniques for the less abled.
I assess all of my pupils and create a unique progress plan targeted at allowing for progress for all of my pupils.
I set regular homework, assessments and exam questions.
I use a wealth of different resources including use of PowerPoint presentations, textbооks, оnline resоurces, worksheets, past papers and referring to real-life examples to help students understand and apply their subject knowledge gained in the way expected by the exam boards.
I work with all of my students to develop a passion for the subject helping them to enjoy the learning journey. The key to success is hard work, practice, practice and more practice.
As an examiner I am able help my students to answer exam questions according to the standards expected using the mark schemes provided, and ensure they analyse and understand common misconceptions and errors that are made by pupils, allowing for progress to be made.
As a parent I would expect full support on ensuring the right mindset to learning and giving that extra push to ensure any homework set is completed before the next lesson. I look forward working with you or your child so that
‘Together we can make your child's future shine.’
