I studied Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge and have since worked in the city as a Management Consultant, a Strategy Manager creating business plans for a non-profit that supports young people across the UK, and currently a Strategy, Leadership and Behavioural Change Specialist Consultant advising public sector clients. In my spare time I enjoy singing, dancing and volunteering with young people.
I have been a tutor for over 13 years and specialise in secondary school entrance exams and university applications with a 100% success rate! It is wonderful to see my students get a place at their chosen school or university.
I have particular expertise with regard to Oxford and Cambridge, and I coach students through the entire process: choosing their subject, negotiating their predicted grades, strategic university choice, the UCAS personal statement, entrance exams and interviews.
I also tutor a variety of other subjects, including Maths and English, across many stages of education.
I am committed to ensuring that my students fulfil their potential and grow in confidence on the journey! Succeeding in education takes more than just subject knowledge; I therefore take a holistic approach and coach my students on the following, in addition to subject teaching:
- how to build important relationships with their teachers (particularly those writing references for university)
- how to manage their time effectively both to excel academically and to maintain their well-being
- how to identify their natural strengths and talents
- how to work in a way that draws from their natural strengths
- how to work strategically and efficiently according to the particular exam requirements (we do not always need to know every topic, just the right topics!)
- how to approach major decisions such as subject choices and university choices. I do this by facilitating their thought process considering influences and potential future implications etc
- how to illustrate the particular attributes of an A* grade or a top university applicant
