Hi there! My name's Sherri. I have a BSc in Sociology and an MSc in criminology from Teesside University and I currently work full time within a school. I love working within the education sector and being able to help support learners achieve their personal goals.
I have experience of working with different age groups and abilities, however my specialism is working with learners with ASD. Although I have a strong SEN background I work with a variety of learners with different skillsets and abilities, thus I can tailor the work to meet a student's individual needs. I currently work in a SEMH provision working with students aged 14-16 completing their final years of secondary education as an English learning mentor. I can help you with GCSE/A-level Sociology and GCSE English.
As the majority of my prior teaching experience has been in small groups, I'm able to work well with students on a one-to-one basis. I believe students learn better when they have a good relationship with the person teaching them, therefore I try to build a friendly rapport with students and teach them in a relaxed and fun way. I take great pride in seeing learners excel and enjoy the learning process and try to incorporate this in the classroom.
