I graduated from Durham Law School in 2024 with a high 2:1. Mandarin is my native language, but I am also fluent in English and confident in teaching it as a foreign language. I enjoy learning languages myself and am currently studying Japanese, which helps me understand the challenges and excitement of language learning from a student’s perspective.

Outside of academics, I love going to the gym and cooking, both of which reflect my active and balanced lifestyle. I would describe myself as easygoing, approachable, and curious, with a strong sense of responsibility. I take initiative in everything I do and enjoy inspiring others to find their own interest and motivation in learning.

Tutoring Experience

After graduating from Durham Law School, I worked as a full-time tutor for seven months with a distinguished international family in Belgravia, London. During this time, I provided professional tutoring and academic support to an 8-year-old girl, with lessons to her needs while maintaining regular communication and feedback with her parents.
Alongside this, I also work as a freelance IELTS tutor. I have successfully helped students improve their scores in a short time, including one student who increased their overall band by 0.5 within just 10 days of focused study. These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt to different learning styles and deliver suitable support.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching style is relaxed yet responsible. I believe studying is a lifelong journey, so it’s important not to put unnecessary pressure on oneself in the short term, but instead to build the habit of committing to long-term learning. In my lessons, students can expect an informative yet relaxed atmosphere, with the freedom to step outside the textbook and explore topics in a more engaging way. I will also give feedback on a regular basis to keep things tracked. I am always encouraging and value every step of progress my students make—no matter how small.
