I am a professional school teacher of Mathematics and Physics. PhD and BSc (Honours) degrees in Physics from University of Exeter. Specialist teacher of GCSE Mathematics, with particular expertise in helping students reach their full potential in GCSE exams.
Please note: I am now at full capacity for midweek evenings and weekend tuition, so only available for new clients during normal school hours (9am to 4pm, Mon to Fri).
18 years of full-time professional teaching at KS3 and KS4 (2006 to present). Additional experience in 1:1 tutoring in GCSE Mathematics and A-level Physics, in addition to degree level tutoring during my PhD.
I have a calm and supportive approach to teaching. When tutoring a student for their GCSE exams, I use GCSE past papers as a starting point to quickly identify areas of strength and weakness, and to make rapid progress with the topics that will improve GCSE performance and maximise the student's grade. I have particular skill with making topics accessible to students, and practical examples to clearly understand the mathematical principles at work. I have a proven track record of helping students reach their potential and achieve grades that seemed out of reach before we started our lessons together.
