I have been teaching and tutoring all of my life. In school, I tutored my friends. In my work as a Research coordinator for the NHS, much of my work involved teaching. My volunteer activities have often included teaching and tutoring. I am multi-lingual, speaking languages French, Tamil and English.

Tutoring Experience

From a very young age I have been very interested in and developed an aptitude for mathematics and science.
I especially enjoy teaching French, I took French GCSE early and helped my French teacher at school during class by teaching one class a week or by helping my classmates that needed an extra hand.

In university I choose to pursue an honours biomedical sciences degree. I frequently helped classmates in mathematics and sciences, which I quite enjoyed, so I decided to work as a tutor for the science department. I went on to tutor privately, which I have been doing continuously for over ten years now (with some breaks). I have learned first-hand a great deal about how people learn and how to be and effective tutor.

Tutoring Approach

My manner is very down to earth. I communicate openly.

My style adapts to the needs of the student.

When I have a student who is afraid of a question, I can be very gentle and reassuring. I help them learn to trust me so that they can venture out and really try a problem. They know I "have their back" and I will not let them be frustrated for long. Only by being willing to try a problem can they learn how to do it.
