I am a dedicated education and healthcare professional with 10 years training and education experience and 15 years health sector experience. I am passionate about ensuring marginalised and minority groups have equitable access to education and health services. I pride myself on my ability to motivate people to be conscientious and caring professionals, create and deliver engaging content and deliver effective teaching, learning and assessment to a diverse range of groups, including adult care professionals, registered nurses, 16-18 year olds, prisoners, and adult students.
I have significant experience in teaching, training learning and assessment. I consider my key skills to be rapport building, conflict resolution and making learning accessible to underprivileged and marginalised groups.
I have taught Health and Social care at various levels including T level and A level, and was course lead for my learner groups.
I have delivered lesson to a hugely diverse range of people, from nurses with 20 years experience, to prisoners convicted of murder, to 16 year olds just beginning their health education. I draw on this range of experience to make lessons, fun, interactive and content rich.
In my experience, real life examples from practice settings are invaluable, and can really make the textbook content come to life. I have significant practical experience in Health and Social care. I have worked in Mental Health Units, Infection Prevention and Control, Prison Healthcare, Care and Nursing Homes, Assessment Units, Inpatient Wards and Intensive Care settings.
I have taught clinical skills to a wide range of health professionals, such as District Nurses, Midwives, Urgent care practitioners, Social Workers, Paramedics, and Substance Misuse / Mental Health Practitioners, and as such have a good understanding across all Healthcare Sectors.
In the first instance we will discuss your needs, the outcomes you are intending and your preferred learning style. My background is healthcare and engagement, so I aim to really appeal to what works for you, in order to really provide the outcomes you are striving to achieve.
My teaching style is person centred and holistic. I will work within the remit you provide to ensure engaging and enjoyable lessons that you really take something from.
I currently work for the Ministry of Defence, designing and delivering their Diversity and Inclusion training packages. I ensure that Diversity and Inclusion is embedded into all lessons, as it is a fundamental component of Health and Social care.
