I am a proactive, approachable and experience teacher who has lived in the East Sussex area for 40 years. I hold the Diploma and Certificate from Cambridge for the teaching of English (DELTA / CELTA). I have taught for the past 10 years and have held DBS/CRB checks from all my employment institutions. I also hold a private DBS check.that can be provided on request.
In addition to my teaching skills I am also a Reserve Officer in the army.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching in the East Sussex area for just over 10 years. My main area of experience comes from teaching English as a foreign (2nd) language to international students, both juniors aged 12 years old plus, up to mature adults. I have also taught business English to junior managers from overseas and specialist military English to naval and army personnel from Europe. I have been an academic director of two small international college during which time I not only taught but also designed material and curriculum. In the past 3 years I have taught business studies at GCSE level and for the past year taught GCSE modern history.

Tutoring Approach

I have taught people from all backgrounds and all abilities, as such I establish a rapport with the student so they feel comfortable making errors and aspire to achieving the results they need. I believe it is vital to establish the learning style each individual has so that lessons can be tailored to suit.
