Stephen tutored my daughter for her A level English Language. Just one session but Steve was very enthusiastic and friendly and made my daughter feel at ease. She found the session very helpful and said that Stephen was thorough.

Stephen has a thorough knowledge of the exam and he can explain everything very clearly, precisely and patiently, which makes his tutoring remarkably informative and effective. My son said he hade been extremely lucky to have Stephen's support and tutoring because Stephen tried his best to make everything understandable to him. Without Stephen, my son would not have made so much progress in English. With Stephen's help, my son has fostered much interest in English reading and writing and he feels much more confident. Highly recommended!

My daughter found Steve to be a great teacher, easy to talk to, funny and most importantly he asked the right questions to identify her needs and provided the teaching/guidance she needed.

Steve is a friendly, kind and encouraging tutor. He has helped so much with our son’s English - a subject he was really struggling with at school. Tutorials have been face to face as well as via zoom due to covid. Steve responds promptly to messages and has updated me on progress. Our son is now more confident with his English. He no longer dreads English lessons, and this is because of Steve’s excellent tutoring. This has also led to an improvement and confidence in his other school subjects.

Stephen was engaging and took the time to understand where my son required support. My son enjoyed the initial lesson so much that he wanted to keep writing even when the session was over and this continued with other sessions. Steve is an absolute gem. We expected him to be a good teacher - his reviews bear this out. What we weren't expecting was the degree to which he would be prepared to put himself out to work with us and our rather unusual situation. Over just one year he pulled together a teaching plan for a child who'd previously never studied film, for a different exam board and at a different level to his usual teaching practice, all done over Skype as we're 200 miles away in Sussex. My son's special school couldn't provide him with any teaching in Film Studies at GCSE and no other local provider would/could either. He needed a grade 3 or above at GCSE to get into Digital Arts at mainstream sixth form college and as he's obsessed with film, this seemed his best bet. Our son got a grade 6 which both boosted his self-esteem immeasurably and got him his place. We will be forever grateful to Steve - his teaching, insight and support was absolutely invaluable. Steve is an exceptional tutor, he has taken my son (Sam) from loathing all aspects of GCSE English to incredibly positive about all aspects of the course. He has a fabulous coaching style that engages and encourages the student in equal measure. He is brilliant at exam technique breaking each paper down into highly achievable sections, he provides insight into how to maximise marks. He is very friendly, personable and interesting so Sam has looked forward to his lessons and actively used the techniques taught during his revision.

Very happy with our first tutoring session, in fact, it couldn't have gone better. Stephen is friendly and engaging which resulted in an immediate rapport between him and my 13yr old son. He magically made my son actually enjoy an hour of English tuition and look forward to the next session. A brilliant start.
