Steve has taught my son with his GCSE English and has been incredibly patient and caring with my son. He has spent hours and hours trying to make my son understand and write quality pieces. He is very experienced and knowledgeable. We feel very grateful to have found him and can't find the words to thank Steve enough.

Steve is a brilliant teacher. He is incredibly knowledgeable and his teaching style is engaging and interactive. An hour of one-to-one teaching of this standard is worth weeks in the classroom. Can’t recommend him highly enough!

Steve is an excellent tutor. He worked with my daughter and improved her writing skills in a short period. I admit that my daughter is difficult to deal with, however, Steve was so patient and kind. I recommend him to everyone seeking help in the English language.

Steve is a knowledgeable and experienced tutor. However, because we didn't communicate clearly about the charge beforehand, the tuition will not continue.

Steve has been an excellent tutor to two of my children. He proved to be an experienced and knowledgeable teacher who was able to adapt to their different levels (one taking GCSE English and the other AS level). Both found his input immensely helpful. We found that he took the time to read any work produced carefully and then gave constructive feedback, building on strengths and supporting any weaknesses. Without a doubt he improved the confidence level for both children (as well as their results). I would be happy to strongly recommend Steve as someone who is reliable and teaches so well, and who also cares about the development of his students.

I wanted to wait and see how my son progressed under Steve's tuition rather than provide immediate feedback. I cannot recommend Steve enough. He took my (struggling) son from a grade D/E prediction by his school to achieving a B grade in iGCSE English. Steve is quickly able to grasp children's strengths and weaknesses and provides appropriate, encouraging, excellent feedback with exercises that my son was very motivated to do and which improved his overall competences. I believe Steve was also a board examiner/marker which clearly shows in his advice for exam prep. He shows a genuine, sincere interest in developing the child. Very professional and an excellent teacher.

I tend to understand things more late than anyone else, yet Steve has given me a clear and insightful understanding of my subject; I am progressively moving into the right direction.

Steve is a fantastic tutor. In under 6 mouths of being tutored by Steve I went from a GCSE grade D in English language, to picking up a GCSE A*. You won't find a better tutor than Steve.

Steve taught my daughter for the final half of her English A2. Having never met Steve before, I was obviously entering the unknown and taking a gamble. From the first lesson it quickly became apparent that Steve knows his subject matter very well and rapidly engaged and helped my daughter improve her chances of passing her A2 (something which the local comprehensive could not do!).
Steve even helped out with my daughter's university application due to various other problems.
In conclusion, I would say that if you live in Loughborough and want probably the best English tutor for your child… then Steve is your man!

It's early days, but the boys enjoy their sessions with Steve. He engages them well and talks to them on their level and it seems to be giving them confidence already.

I cannot speak too highly of Steve. His knowledge, technique and ability to engage and inspire is second to none. My daughter is now regaining enthusiasm for a subject in which she was begining to flounder prior to Steve's input. As a result, I am far more confident she will achieve a good grade at A level . A very good tutor who gives an understaning of the concepts in literature and doesn't just reel off points. He has a vivid knowledge of the subject and communicates this very well. I highly reccomend him!

Our daughter Nicole (year 8) has been tutored by Steve and his son Nick over the past six months and she has certainly gained in confidence, especially with her English comprehension with which she was struggling. Her spelling and grammar have improved and she always loves to go for her lesson each week. They have made her more interested in reading books and have given her many recommendations. Their teaching materials are excellent and they are both very dedicated to helping her. Steve is now going to tutor our son with his GCSE English which he is taking next year. Steve is really helpful and kind- and very prompt with emails. He has been tutoring me in my final year at university and is continuing to do so until I graduate. I have found my work to go up by ten marks which has got me to a 2.1 standard. Hopefully with the remaining few assignments I have, my overall average will be a 2.1- I will be very happy if it is! Steve is an accomplished and devoted English tutor. Lessons were significantly focused and constructive. Steve provided teaching materials which greatly assisted with my learning – from intensive handouts to visual aids via his laptop (he was always one **Contact Detail Removed**!) Steve spent a considerable amount of his personal time along with lessons to guarantee my A Level English Lit and Lang coursework was completed to a very high standard. I have no hesitations whatsoever to recommend Steve in future. Many thanks Steve!

Really pleased with Steve's tutor methods, helped greatly with essay structure and identifying key mark points the examiner was looking for, my daughter went from a 'C/D' grade to an overall 'B' but an 'A' in the exam.
Felt progress was made after the first two lessons and Steve always willing to be contacted at any time through phone or email, as well as being flexible enough to changes in routines.

Steve is an excellent teacher, our daughter, Taylor, got much better results after Steve's tuition. He is very patient and explains things really well. We cant praise Steve highly enough. Taylor had lost her confidence, due to poor teaching at her College, and Steve really helped re-build this. She passed her exams and got into University, and this was achieved with Steve's help.

Very pleased with our first session. You went through English comprehension, reading and spelling in some detail. You found his weaknesses and even gave Max some (but not too much!) homework. What I found interesting was that you were very patient and listened carefully. Max even said afterwords that he had enjoyed it! I think it will be useful over the next 3 weeks to find out his other weak spots and the create a plan of action for the 2 entrance exams we will be aiming for in January. Many thanks.

My daughter was struggling with her A Level English and after being taught by Steve I feel she has become very confident and positive.
