Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Combined Science and Maths - Expert GCSE Tuition !
Hello, I'm Steven and I focus all my professional skills, time and energy on improving the grades and confidence of the students I tutor. There are lots of tutors to choose from, so why choose me? To get your child better grades! Here's why:
1) I am an "Examiner" which means I mark REAL GCSE exam papers for the biggest UK exam board - and use what I learn to improve my students grades !
2) Fully qualified professional Teacher (QTS).
3) Independent proof that I improve my students grades - please see the 46 Five Star reviews at bottom of page as evidence of this.
4) Highly experienced - with nearly 20 years teaching.
5) MSc and BSc university degrees - and so deep subject knowledge.
6) I concentrate ALL of my time, skills and enthusiasm on GCSE Science and Maths only (no KS3, no A level etc) - so that I can provide my GCSE students with the very best help possible !
I mark 700+ real GCSE exam papers for the biggest UK exam board each summer. I use what I learn (common errors, misconceptions, poor exam technique, poor scientific vocab) to help my student to get more marks and improve their grades !
I offer the following:
£18 small group class lessons 1 hour online - highly effective & great value!
£125 one-to-one 1 hour online lessons.
The following is information on my small group 1 hour Teams classes:

Deputy head of science and an outstanding teacher.
I have experience of teaching in different schools and across all the secondary curriculum/specification, from KS3 through GCSE up to and including A level.
I am an experienced teacher and tutor who has helped many students make significant progress and improve their grades.
I have expert knowledge of AQA, Edexcel, Edexcel IGCSE, Cambridge IGCSE, and OCR exam board specifications.
(I do not teach WJEC and CCEA as I'm not expert in these).
I'm patient, honest and helpful and I believe that Science and Maths are fun, and learning them should be engaging and interesting too. When tutoring, I seek to identify the weaknesses of my students and then help them to improve whilst enjoying the process of learning.
Being a professional teacher means that I have a deep understanding of:
* The subject.
* Exactly what needs to be learnt for your exam and what does not (the specification/curriculum).
* Different teaching and learning techniques to help young people learn.
Many tutors are not qualified teachers and cannot provide ALL of the above - there is a big difference between understanding the subject and being able to teach it effectively...
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and I hope to be working with you soon!
*1 - these classes are allowed to grow in size at 2 points during the year, however most classes do not actually grow:
From July and across the summer holidays so that when we restart in September after the summer holiday and a few students who are not committed to improving their grades drop out in the first weeks of classes the classes are still a reasonable size. From March onwards so that when all the year 11's stop attending in mid June (because they have finished their real GCSE exams) the classes will still be a reasonable size.
