Hi. Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Stuart and I'm a professional and highly experienced teacher of English Language, English Literature and English as a Foreign Language. I trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama where I achieved an MA and an MFA in Voice Studies where I specialised in the teaching of Shakespeare, Restoration and Eighteenth Century plays as well as training as a specialist English teacher at the University of Leeds. I have more than 20 years experience in the teaching English Language and Literature both in classes and individually both in-person and online. I also teach acting, voice and speech which I have done in many of the UK's top drama schools where numerous students have gone on to have careers in the world of performance. I trained as an actor in the USA. I am also the Senior Examiner in Speech and Drama for VCM Exams and an examiner for EDEXCEL A level Drama and Theatre Studies. I was awarded Honorary Fellowship from VCM Exams for my work with them and Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts for my work in the theatre.
I'm a teacher who wants my students to do brilliantly - and they always do. I started teaching in the early 1990's in a small Theatre School and soon after became an External Examiner for the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I then trained as a Drama and English Teacher at Bretton Hall University College Leeds and taught Drama GCSE and A Level Drama and GCSE English at secondary school before moving to a college to become Team Manager for the Performing Arts Department. If you would like to develop your skills in English Language and English Literature I am sure that I can help you out just as I have helped hundreds of students before you. I have helped many students to succeed with their GCSE English examinations and many have achieved marks higher than they expected. I believe that studying privately is rewarding and fun, English is an exciting subject, and students become thoroughly engaged in my lessons as their enthusiasm grows more and more. I have had several students return to me after their examinations just for the fun of learning English in more depth. Students working on English as a Foreign Language do very well in their development.
I'm a teacher with a sense of humour and I always make students feel really comfortable in the work we are doing. I am a professional in every aspect of my work - I'm organised and ready to help you succeed in what you want, I do it with a smile and bring many years of experience to the lessons. I want you to build technique so that you are able to enjoy the subjects and make real achievements. I can teach any English syllabus you wish. Online teaching has proved to be an excellent way to study English as well. I look forward to hearing from you. Best Wishes. Stuart.
