I have been a qualified teacher for 25 years and currently work in a local primary school as one half of a job share. I am a highly experienced, dedicated professional who has worked across all Key Stages from EYFS, KS1, KS2 to KS3. I have worked in schools throughout Cheshire, Trafford and Manchester.
In addition I have been tutoring privately for 15 years and have a proven track record of improved grades, common entrance and 11 plus success. I am equally at home tutoring reception children to preparing children for Key Stage 1 SATS, year 6 SATS and all local common entrance exams for independent schools in Manchester, Altrincham, Sale and Cheshire.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught all year groups in Cheshire after qualifying in 1995 for 9 years. I then moved to Trafford where I worked in two different schools teaching in both year 1, 3 and 6. In 2008 I started teaching in Manchester where I have remained. I work in a large primary school in East Didsbury and have taught in both Key Stage One and Two. I currently teach a year 6 class.

In addition to my teaching role, I have been working as a private tutor and offer face to face and online lessons. I have a 100 Percent success rate in preparing my tutees for independent and grammar schools locally and further afield including Altrincham , Stockport and Manchester Grammar Schools, Cheadle Hulme, Kings in Macclesfield, Withington Girls, Bluecoats and Kings in Chester. I am familiar with all examination syllabuses including GL and CEM.

Tutoring Approach

I am patient, dedicated and professional. The learning style of each pupil is important to me and I adapt to the learning style of the tutee. I think it is really important to have a good sense of humour and form good relationships with both pupils and their parents. Although I love being in the classroom I particularly enjoy working on a 1-1 basis as a private tutor. I leave homework and provide detailed feedback after each lesson. Homework is always set and the first session is a baseline assessment which I use to identify gaps in learning - I use the initial baseline session to design a programme of study to overcome identified needs.
