I have recently completed a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. At school, I achieved 5 A* grades in Chemistry, Biology, Maths, Further Maths and French and I have ten GCSEs at Grade 9. I tutored alongside studying for my A Levels at school, primarily as a volunteer tutor, as well as continuing to tutor a few students during my time at university. Since completing my degree, I have much more time to dedicate to tutoring and am offering lessons in Chemistry, Biology and Maths at both GCSE and A Level. Teaching has always been a passion of mine and is something I wish to continue long-term alongside my future endeavours in Biochemistry/Medicine.
am in my first year studying Biochemistry at the University of Oxford. I recently completed my A Levels in Chemistry, Biology, Maths, Further Maths and French at Aylesbury High School, earning 5 A* grades, so I am up to date on the current syllabuses. I am able to tutor online for A Levels in both Chemistry and Maths, and my exam boards were OCR A for Chemistry and Edexcel for Maths, although I am open teaching for other UK exam boards in these subjects.
I was a volunteer tutor whilst at school for two years and have tutored privately outside of this for around 4 years.
I offer an open, friendly approach to tutoring, which is highly flexible to meet the needs of my students. My experience in my subjects allows me to help students better contextualise their exam content by using real-world examples and helping them to link together concepts from different areas of their course. This higher level of understanding is extremely helpful, not only for exam success, but to provide tools to progress further in their subjects and think more openly about the applications of what they are learning.
It is often helpful for students to be able to ask questions and discuss topics with somebody closer to their age, and having been through an up to date exam specification myself, I can offer up to date insight and understanding of the process they are going through.
