I am passionate about teaching children and want to help them achieve their targets in school, as well as building solid foundations in the various subjects. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
I have had over 5 years experience tutoring children of varying abilities in English and Maths from the ages of 4-16 at Satchel Learning.
I have recently tutored primary school children in Maths with the charity Students4Students online during the COVID-19 pandemic, thus I am well equipped to delivering teaching in an online format.
I have acted as Maths and Chemistry mentors at GCSE and A-Level level to my peers and younger students.
Before teaching any topic, I like to assess what my pupil knows in the subject to get an understanding of the areas in which they feel confident and which areas they may need more help in. From there I can tailor my lesson to your child's indivudal needs and wants, using a structured goal-setting plan in order to make sure that targets are being achieved. I often start with basic concepts, making my student thoroughly understands these before progressing to higher level problems.
Throughout the teaching time, the pupil will consistently be assessed through the use of practice problems and general questions to engage them and improve their confidence and skill in the subject. I find that repeating concepts can help solidfy them in your child's mind. Each lesson I will review their work and give detailed feedback to help me plan further sessions and allow an upward progression in learning. I aim to make every session engaging, enjoyable and useful for the student to aid their learning and development.
