Tutoring Approach

Making a student confident of his or her ability is of prime importance. Giving them a "taste of success" motivates them more than anything. For that, I first try to assess the student's skills and understanding of the subject matter and use it to build up the main theme. I use a lot of spot quizzes to analyse the learner's understanding of the topic. The lesson concludes with an end-of-the-topic assessment. I use periodic question series for revision. For all the topics, I like to discuss and solve as many examples as possible with the student to build up problem-solving skills. A priority is given to those topics where a student feels more help is necessary. Finally, I encourage the learner to have their own initiative to solve different problems and improve verses have ready-made answers.
