I am a highly experienced Maths Teacher with 22 years of Maths Teaching experience. Some of the schools I have worked at include, Watford Boys Grammar School, an International School for the Saudi Royal family and a very high achieving IB International School where the IBDP average score was 39. As well as working with very high ability students I have extensive experience of working with Foundation Maths students. I am a graduate of the London School of Economics.
I have experience of teaching IB MAA HL, IB MAA SL, IB MAI SL, IB IA, Level, A Level, GCSE higher, GCSE Foundation, IGCSE Extended, IGCSE Core and the MYP.
In the IBDP I have worked at two very high achieving schools where most of the students in my classes achieved 7 in Maths MAA HL. I have extensive experience of the IBDP Internal Assessment.
In the UK I have worked at Watford Boys Grammar school where I taught A Level, GCSE Extended and GCSE Foundation. Therefore, as well as teaching high achieving students at Watford Boys Grammar, I have also taught Maths to Foundation and Core students.
I have extensive experience of working in International Schools. In these schools I taught mainly IBDP Maths and IGCSE Maths. I have extensive experience of teaching students of all backgrounds and nationalities. I have worked extensively in the Middle East and Asia.
Prior to teaching Maths, I was an English Teacher. I taught English as a Second Language. I taught ESL at the University of the Beira Interior in Portugal and at Imperial College in London. Consequently, I am able to teach students who struggle with their English skills.
I tailor my approach according to the needs of my students. I have taught all ages, all abilities and all Nationalities. I have taught SEN students and very high achieving students.I like to think that I am a caring teacher. I like to spend time with my students going over material again until they understand it. I don't pressure my students and I am very patient. As detailed above I have achieved a lot in my Maths teaching career due to my caring approach.
