I am a wife, mother and grandmother and live on my farm with my husband, horses, cats, dogs and chickens and love being outdoors with them. On leaving school I studied for my first degree after which I started my teaching career. After a few years of teaching I had a break to have my two children and later gained a masters degree in addition to other post graduate courses. I have now retired from full time teaching so that I can enjoy my grand children, my pets and being outside amongst my horses. However, I thoroughly enjoyed my teaching: working with students and being part of their learning journeys and now continue to help and inspire students on a one-to-one basis.

Tutoring Experience

I have a wide experience of teaching in infant, junior, inner-city state secondary and independent secondary schools. I have, with great success, prepared students for SATs, GCSE and independent school entrance examinations. In addition, my experience includes tutoring students on a private basis, both face to face and online through zoom. As a result of teaching online, I now tutor students local to my home, within the UK as well as further afield in foreign countries.

Tutoring Approach

The benefits of teaching on a one-to-one basis is that each student has the opportunity to learn through his / her own individual learning style and therefore I encourage individualised programmes of learning where parent, student and teacher are all involved in this journey. I create an atmosphere where the student feels comfortable to attempt a task, make a mistake and ask for further clarification if necessary. Through this approach, I hope to boost confidence and support a student to reach his / her full potential.
