I am an enthusiastic person who love challenges and working with students to improve their grades and skill set. I believe it is important that all students receive the best education and look to continue to improve. Over the 9 years of teaching, I too have continued to progress and I have taken many CPD sessions to improve my own methods of teaching.
I have taught 9 years at an academy. During this time I am a PGCE mentor, a guide for teachers who are PGCE mentors. I coach teachers professionally in order to help them to deliver the best education and utilise strategies to support students from all different abilities, needs and backgrounds. I am also third in science and look to improve KS5 attainment grades for students to become independent learners. I volunteer for the curriculum equality group. I have a wealth of knowledge for KS3 and KS4 science as well as teaching KS5 Chemistry. My experience as a STEM coordinator has allowed me to help students on their projects to get CREST awards and to develop their leadership skills. I was also an AQA Examiner and have marked GCSE AQA Chemistry papers
My teaching approach is to look at the strengths and areas for development of a student. I use exam papers, questioning, assessment for learning techniques, whiteboards and use the specification to guide students through the contents. I will help summarise and look at specific keywords to help students answer exam questions.
